Nuclear science security curriculum at moroccan universities : The Hassan II univeristy of Casablanca experience

Abstract: The Hassan II university of Casablanca (UH2C) is a public university established in 1975, it encompasses about 100.000 students and over 1100 full time professors, making it the third largest university in Morocco, it consists of 18 institutes (faculties and schools) which belongs the faculty of Science Ain Chock.
In 2015, an option related to nuclear security in various nuclear science and technology has been added to the academic program of the faculty, as the result of the permanent development and progress of nuclear sciences and their several applications, especially in medicine, industry and agriculture.
This paper gives an overview of the beginnings of teaching nuclear science in Morocco, it describes the nuclear science and technology curriculum at UH2C- Ain chock, and then, it highlights the efforts to integrate nuclear security courses into the existing program through different ways, and finally discusses the challenges faced in establishing a specific nuclear security curriculum at the university.
